Check if a Photo is a Screenshot

Detect whether an image is a screenshot or a real photograph. Analyzes resolution, EXIF data, and format patterns to identify screen captures.

Screenshot Detection

How it works

Screenshots and photographs have different technical fingerprints. Screenshots match device screen resolutions, lack camera EXIF fields like focal length and aperture, and typically use PNG compression. Our Screenshot Scanner checks against 150+ known device screen dimensions and analyzes metadata patterns to determine whether an image was captured from a screen or photographed with a camera.

Tips

Screenshots that have been cropped, resized, or re-saved as JPEG may lose their screen resolution fingerprint. For the most accurate detection, use the original file as received — not a re-exported or compressed copy.
