The Service

Scanly.co provides image forensics, metadata, privacy, and image-utility tools. Most tools run entirely in your browser and are free to use. A limited set of server-side AI tools and forensics reports are paid and require an account and credits.

Payments & Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Creem, the Merchant of Record for all our orders. It handles payment, invoicing and tax, and is the name that appears on your statement; its buyer terms apply to your purchase in addition to these terms.

Digital Products & Credits

Paid purchases are digital products: credit packs and forensics reports. Credits are prepaid and are spent (consumed) when a paid tool runs successfully; a forensics report is a one-time generated PDF. Credits and reports are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Consumed credits and generated reports are delivered immediately and are non-refundable; unused credits may be refunded within 14 days. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full details.

Allowed Use

You may use Scanly.co for legitimate purposes including personal, business, educational, and research use. This covers uploading files for metadata extraction, downloading analysis results, and using privacy protection tools like the EXIF remover.

Prohibited Use

You may not:

• Upload malware or malicious files
• Circumvent rate limits or abuse the service
• Reverse engineer or copy our technology
• Perform unauthorized penetration testing
• Upload illegal content or infringe on copyright or privacy rights
• Use the AI tools to remove a watermark, logo, or copyright notice from an image you do not own
• Use the AI tools to create or alter an image of a person in a way that misrepresents them
• Upload a photo containing another person's likeness without that person's explicit consent
• Attempt to generate, produce, or process NSFW, explicit, sexually suggestive, or pornographic content of any kind, whether AI-generated or otherwise. See our Acceptable Use Policy for the full list.
• Use any tool to profile, categorize, or make automated decisions about people (for example inferring age, gender, emotion, or identity from a photo)
• Use the metadata and location tools to track, surveil, or locate a person without their consent
• Harass or abuse other users

People in Photos

Some tools work on photos that contain faces — the Image Upscaler, the Passport Photo tool, the Face Blur tool, and the Face Counter. These tools enlarge, redact or count a face that is already present in the photo you upload. None of them runs a face model: no facial feature is reconstructed or altered. They do not generate a new face, swap faces, create deepfakes, or identify anyone, and they do not estimate age, gender, emotion, or any other attribute of a person.

You are responsible for having the right to upload the photo, including the explicit consent of any identifiable person in it. Do not upload photos of other people without their permission.

Rate Limits

To ensure fair usage, the following limits apply per IP address:

• File scanning — 50 files per hour
• URL scanning — 30 URLs per hour
• Max file size — 50 MB per file

Supported image formats: JPG, PNG, TIFF, HEIC, AVIF, WebP. Screenshots and software-generated images may contain limited EXIF data.

Service Availability

We target 99.9% uptime on a best-effort basis. Scheduled maintenance is announced in advance and typically lasts under 30 minutes. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features at any time.

Data Retention

Uploaded files are automatically deleted within 1 hour. Anonymous technical logs are retained for 30 days, error logs for 90 days. No permanent file storage occurs. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. You are responsible for backing up files before processing, verifying metadata accuracy for critical applications, and complying with applicable laws.

Scanly.co is not liable for any damages resulting from service interruptions, data loss, or inaccurate analysis results.
