How it works

Every page, not just the first

A multi-page TIFF, like a scan or a fax, becomes one JPG per page. Download a single page or all of them in one ZIP.

Pick the JPG quality

High (92) keeps scans sharp. Medium or Small file make much lighter JPGs for email and the web.

Every JPG is checked

Each JPG is decoded again before download and its size must match the page. The ZIP is opened again and must hold one JPG per page.

Unsupported TIFFs are named

Some TIFF types would come out as noise or wrong colours. The page reads each page header first and names the problem instead of handing you a broken JPG.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert a TIFF to JPG?

Upload the TIFF, pick a quality, then download one page or all pages. Every page is checked after it is written.

Does it handle multi-page TIFF?

Yes. Every page becomes its own file, named page-001, page-002 and so on. Download one page, or all of them in a ZIP that is opened again and counted before download.

What happens to transparent parts?

JPG cannot store transparency, so clear pixels are filled with white, and the page tells you when that happened. For transparency, use TIFF to PNG.

Which JPG quality should I pick?

High (92) looks the same as the TIFF to most eyes. Maximum (100) makes large files for little gain. Medium (80) suits email and websites.

Which TIFFs does it refuse?

CCITT Group 3 fax pages, ZSTD, JPEG 2000, BigTIFF, floating-point pixels, separate colour planes and JPEG-in-TIFF stored as RGB. The decoder reads these wrong without an error, so the page names the problem and converts nothing. Save the file again as LZW or uncompressed TIFF.

Is there a size limit?

40 megapixels a page and 200 megapixels for the whole file. A larger file is refused with its real size, never scaled down without telling you.

Is my TIFF uploaded anywhere?

No. The TIFF is read and converted in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
