Resolution & DPI

How it works

Need to check photo resolution before printing or uploading? This image resolution checker reads your photo's exact pixel dimensions, calculates DPI for standard print sizes, and reports compression, sharpness and noise as separate figures. It answers the most common question: is my image high-resolution enough? Whether you're preparing files for a print shop, checking stock photo downloads, or verifying that a client sent files at the right size — upload any image and get instant resolution data.

Tips

Resolution alone doesn't tell the full story. A 4000×3000 image (12MP) that's been heavily JPEG-compressed may look worse than a well-preserved 3000×2000 file. Our tool shows resolution and bytes per pixel side by side. For print, you need 300 DPI at your target size — a 12MP photo prints sharply up to about 13×10 inches.
