Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert an image to Word?
Pick the language of the text, drop your image above and wait for the scan. Check the text, then press Word to download a .docx file.
Will the Word file look like my image?
No. Only the text is copied, line by line, with blank lines kept as paragraph breaks. Fonts, columns, tables and pictures are not rebuilt. The text is fully editable.
Which apps open the file?
It is a standard .docx. Microsoft Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice Writer and Apple Pages all open it.
Can it read handwriting?
Printed text works best. Neat handwriting is sometimes read, but expect mistakes. Check the text before you download.
How do I get the best result?
Use a sharp, well-lit image where the text is straight and large enough to read. Choose the right language before you scan. Crop away anything that is not text.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Tesseract.js reads the text in your browser and the .docx is built on your device. Your image never leaves it.
