GPS

How it works

Smartphone photos embed precise GPS coordinates in their metadata — latitude, longitude, altitude, and sometimes compass bearing. Our tool reads these coordinates and displays them on an interactive map with one-click navigation to Google Maps. It supports JPEG, HEIC, TIFF, and WebP files. If coordinates are found, you'll see the exact spot where the photo was taken.

Tips

GPS accuracy varies: smartphones are typically 3-10 meters, dedicated GPS devices 1-3 meters, and photos taken indoors or in urban canyons may be less accurate. WiFi-assisted positioning can also embed approximate coordinates.
